Paul Rimmer is the PYP and ELP (Experiential Learning) Coordinator for Primary Years and Grade 5 teacher. He joined GEMS World Academy (Singapore) as a founding member in 2014, initially teaching Grade 3.
Paul is from the United Kingdom and holds Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education with Primary Education (BA (Hons) QTS from the University College, St. John's, York (UK). His teaching career started in the north of England where he taught for 4 years, followed by the move to the Middle East, where he spent 12 years working at a school in Qatar. He moved to Singapore in 2012, teaching Grade 4 at an international school. During his teaching years he taught students from Grades 2-5 and PE from Kindergarten to Grade 5.
Paul is trained IB Workshop Leader and School Visiting Team member. This role gives him the opportunity to be part of the International Baccalaureate Educator Network and to work with other IB schools around the world.
Paul’s wife Claire is a MYP/IGCSE/DP Visual Arts Educator & Visual and Performing Arts Subject Leader, their two sons Charlie and Nicholas are GEMS students in the Secondary Years. Outside of school Paul’s passion lies with sport and in particular rugby where he strongly supports Scotland.
