Have you ever wanted to know what the Head of School does during the day? Have you ever wanted to know how a school curriculum is developed? Have you wanted to know what the school leaders discuss in their meetings? Have you wanted to know what a school leader looks for when visiting classrooms?
This is your chance to find out the answers to these questions and more. You are invited to be the Head of School for a day...well, sort of. There is an opportunity for a small group of parents to shadow me for a day. What does this involve?
On Thursday 23 May, a small group of parents will be following me and joining all of my meetings, class visits and general school duties for a day. We can negotiate the exact time spent during the day as it may not be possible for you to attend the school for the entire day. It is anticipated though that that two to three people will enjoy a day of being “behind the scenes“ and dive into further understanding of what takes place within the walls of the school’s offices. To entice you even further, lunch will be provided for you.
If you are interested then please send an email to the Secretary to the Head of School, Azlina Ismail at firstname.lastname@example.org on Thursday, 16 May 2019 before 4:00 pm.
An important part of this experience will be that, after the observation day, the parents involved will jointly write a short article which will be shared with the parent community. This will be a brief story of what was observed on the day. As you are already aware, it is always my aim to be as open and transparent as possible and it is my hope that this opportunity provides another lens for our parent community to look through and see what happens at GEMS World Academy (Singapore).
