Early & Primary Years News

Early & Primary Years News

We are excited to welcome forty new students to the Early and Primary Years classes on 7 January 2020. As our school grows so does our faculty, our student body and our parent community. This growth brings new perspectives that continually move us forward.

With the holidays now upon us, we would like to take this opportunity and once again thank you for your continued support to the school, and in particular, to the Early & Primary Years division. This semester, we’ve been focused on:

  • reviewing and building upon our existing curriculum through research, professional discussion and action plans,
  • reviewing assessments, strategies and tools that serve us best in giving students meaningful feedback and support the next steps in their learning journey.

The promotion of student agency, giving the students a chance to take ownership of their won learning has been a focal point of our discussions.

Parent Engagement Workshops

Preparing Our Students for the Future

This workshop will focus on some concepts and predictions surrounding students’ futures and some things schools should be doing to prepare them. What is your definition of success for your child? How does your definition of success impact what you would like them to experience at school? How can we equip students to thrive in the future where disruption and globalization will need to be navigated more than ever before?

Date: Tuesday, 14 January
Time: 9:00 - 10:00am
Location: Auditorium Lobby
RSVP: Click here

Boost Your Child’s Brain Power

The fact is that your baby's brain contains 100 billion neurons that need to be wired for optimal learning! But here’s the thing: the rule for brain wiring - use it or lose it! Synapses that are not "wired together" through stimulation are lost during a child’s school years.  Join our expert, Dr Inderbir Sandhu (author of ‘The Secrets to Raising a Smarter Child’) for an interactive session to uncover a few proven and effective ways to give your child’s brain an early head start and put them ahead of the game!

Date: Wednesday, 5 February
Time: 9:00 - 10:00 am
Location: Auditorium Lobby

Early & Primary Years Reports and Parent Portal

Please note, that we are no longer using Managebac for the students’ academic report cards. iSAMS is a new centralised platform for all school-related matters, such as attendance, student academic reports, parent communications and email correspondence with teachers. If you have any initial questions about your child’s report, kindly contact your child’s homeroom teacher directly.

Early and Primary Years student report cards will be published on 13th December in iSAMS and they are now ready for viewing on the parent portal.

Check out this guide to find out how to access your child’s report on the Early/Primary Years Parent Portal. We encourage you to use a web browser when downloading school reports.

For any related parent portal enquiries, please email to the PY Office at eypyoffice@gwa.edu.sg.
