As you may be aware there has recently been an increase in reported cases of Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV). We would like to reassure you that we are closely monitoring the situation, as well as taking advice from the Ministry of Health (MOH) and Ministry of Education (MOE) on best practice to ensure the health and safety of our community.
The following measures have been put into place at GEMS World Academy (Singapore) and we are most grateful for your support and understanding in observing them.
In accordance with GEMS (Singapore) procedures, policies and our proactive approach to ensuring the health and safety of our community, temperature screening is currently being conducted for all visitors and members of the school community (parents, students, staff etc).
Given the escalation of virus transmission, we are requesting travel declarations from all visitors to the school, including GEMS parents and visitors.
New visitors to the school will be required to complete a travel declaration form upon entry to the campus. To support the wellbeing of our community we would ask any members of our community who have visited mainland China to observe Leave of Absence (LOA) as stipulated below.
On 31 January 2020, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that all individuals who have travelled to mainland China within the past 14 days are required to take a 14-day leave of absence (LOA).
The following steps have been taken to ensure the safety of all students, parents and staff at GEMS (Singapore):
We have further enhanced our measures by suspending all inter-school activities and external activities until the end of March. This includes various Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA’s) on and off-campus, Open House sessions and group events for prospective parents.
Otherwise, the school is fully operational and welcomes individual visitors and small groups to the campus (below 10 pax). Please contact the respective departments to schedule your appointment in advance.
