Nursery Teacher and Teaching Partner

GEMS World Academy (Singapore) is seeking dynamic, experienced and flexible Nursery teachers and Teaching Partners to help to nurture and develop the knowledge, abilities, and social skills of children from two to three years old and to help to prepare them for primary school education. This is an exciting opportunity to progress your career. Preference will be given to teachers who are bilingual in both Mandarin and English and who have previous teaching experience in a school setting.

Qualifications:

  • College degree or Diploma with teaching emphasis or completion of an accredited Teacher preparation program

Educational Technology Assistant 

Qualifications:

Diploma/Degree holder

Past experience in educational technology

Job Goal: Educational Technology Assistant will support the teachers in facilitating the best teaching and learning for our students by preparing, organizing and clearing educational materials.

Performance Responsibilities: Roles that the Technical Assistant helps to fulfil in GEMS World Academy (Singapore) includes but are not limited to:

Communication:

Continues the school culture of kindness and student centeredness

Develops a warm and nurturing relationship with students in your class. Always speak positively about a child. Talk to and listen to children appropriately

Maintains open communication between yourself and the single subject teacher and between other school personnel

Works cooperatively with teachers and other assistants, proactively sharing skills and strengths and seeking assistance from others when required

Refers all questions about curriculum or individual student progress directly to the subject teacher

Is well informed about the daily and weekly schedules and requirements

Becomes familiar with specific expectations and subject needs

Is informed about all expectations and requirements of all teacher assistants by reading staff handbooks, school newsletters and checking emails on a regular basis

Students:

Supply/cover teacher vacancies 

GEMS World Academy (Singapore) is seeking supply/cover teachers to help during staff absences throughout the academic year. Preference will be given to applicants with teaching qualifications in IB MYP and DP, however, this is not a requirement.

Start date: ongoing from 14 August 2018

ICT Engineer

GEMS World Academy (Singapore) has an opportunity for a professional and experienced individual to fill up this role. A successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the computer systems and the associated software in the school. This is a great opportunity for an individual looking for a challenging career in an educational institution.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Main point-of-contact for all technology-related matters concerning the early and primary years at the school
  • To manage and maintain the school's administration and faculty systems
  • To man the ICT helpdesk, service the users (both staff and students) in GWAS, based on the schedule and service level agreement (SLA)
  • To maintain and contribute to the development of the school-wide systems infrastructure
  • To maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of networks, systems and relevant ICT systems and their use with particular reference to their uses in education
  • Primary engineer in charge of the inventory system of the management’s choice (currently Folliet)
  • To assist with the development of school policies with regard to standards of operation and use of ICT equipment throughout the school and ensure they are applied
  • To provide support for ICT users in all areas of the school including back office and the leadership team
  • To support out of hours ICT services as required

Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5 years minimum suitable experience in significant IT support service
  • Good personal etiquette and positive customer service attitude
  • Ability to multi-task and cope with a degree of pressure at peak times
  • Understanding of IT principals and an ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience
  • Knowledge on MDM solutions, Windows servers, Google suite will be an advantage

GEMS World Academy (Singapore) is looking for a competent Secretary to Regional CEO.

Job Purpose: To provide administrative support in a variety of functions to Regional CEO that is focused on increasing the efficiency of the office. The candidate should be able to review, prioritize, direct and delegate a wide variety of complex and confidential requests.

Responsibilities:

Maintain CEO's agenda and assist in planning appointments, board meetings, conferences etc

Has a broad knowledge and understanding of the company’s operations and business objectives

Attend meetings and keep minutes

Handle and prioritize all outgoing or incoming correspondence

Make travel arrangements

Arranges meeting calendar

Organizes own workload and priorities on a day-to-day basis using own initiative and knowledge of work
