Primary Years Music Teacher

GEMS World Academy (Singapore) is seeking a dynamic, experienced and flexible Primary Years Teacher of Music. This is a full-time position from 1 August 2019. Preference will be given to teachers who have relevant subject-specific IB PYP experience, as well as a clear track record of superior teaching in international school settings.

GEMS World Academy (Singapore) is seeking a dynamic, experienced and flexible Primary/Secondary Years EAL Assistant Teacher to support the growing population of students from non-English backgrounds.

This is an exciting opportunity due to increased enrolment. Preference will be given to teachers who have ‘push-in model’ EAL experience in an international school setting and are looking for an opportunity to help implement a coherent EAL program at a highly aspirational school.

Supply/Cover Teacher Vacancies 

GEMS World Academy (Singapore) is seeking supply/cover teachers to help during staff absences throughout the academic year. Preference will be given to applicants with teaching qualifications in IB MYP and DP, however, this is not a requirement.

Start date: ongoing from 14 August 2018

Database & Information Systems Administrator

GEMS World Academy (Singapore) is looking for a reliable Database and Information Systems Administrator to join us. An ideal candidate will be one who has prior experience
in a school setting. He or she should understand the importance of database integrity in terms of both efficiency and security.

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge and experience of student information systems, learning management systems and enrolment systems used in international schools

Reports to: Assistant ICT Manager

Job goal:

  • Ensure correct system and data functions that transmit to student enrollment and attendance data into the school’s SIS/LMS and enrolment system, to reconcile the data between systems, to make the necessary corrections, and ensure accuracy

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Assists in setup, maintenance, and support of the school’s student information system, learning management system, enrolment system and all associated
    modules
  • Provides documentation, troubleshooting/problem resolution, training, and support services for students, parents and staff in all faculty divisions and administrative
    departments
  • Assists in the collection, validation, submission, verification and reconciliation of student information data
  • Advise and train the staff on generating and interpreting various reports derivable
    from available systems
  • Audits internal student entry/withdrawal information
  • Coordinates with various stakeholders to ensure compliance of student data
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

School Nurse

This is a Full-time position. 

Qualifications:

  • Recognized and approved BSc Nursing or 3 year General Nursing Certificate, preferably with a Ministry of Health license
  • Current, up-to-date knowledge of worldwide medical and healthcare practices

Experience: A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar position

Skills:

  • Fluent English language capacity
  • Good personal etiquette and positive customer service attitude
  • The ability to remain calm in cases of emergency and cope with a degree of pressure at peak times
  • A logical and relaxed individual able to interact with a variety of people from different backgrounds and cultures
  • Computer competency
  • Polite and pleasant demeanour
  • Able to multi-task and handle priorities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that students and parents adhere to, and are well informed of immunization programs as per the Ministry of Health guidelines
  • Monitor the maintenance of cleanliness and hygiene within the school, particularly in areas such as the cafeteria, washrooms and swimming pools
  • Be available to students and staff to address their immediate medical needs, providing a source of medical advice
  • Maintain comprehensive medical records of all students as regulated by the Ministry of Health
  • Establish procedures for providing first aid in cases of accidents or illness on the school campus or during school functions
  • Refer to accidents or illness appropriately to the school doctor or hospitals, and inform parents and the school Principal
  • Be present for all student-related activities on campus
  • Keep up to date with current medical practices and regulations, as prescribed by Governmental authorities
  • Provides first aid attention in case of accidents or illnesses on the school campus during all school functions
  • Refers to accidents or illnesses as appropriate to the school doctor or hospital emergency; informs parents and the school division Principal and classroom teacher
  • Provide first aid during the ECA sports activities
  • Orders and maintains health office supplies and equipment
  • Manages budget; statistical and financial records
  • Completes essential skill training and specialist development as required to maintain first-class Student Health Office Operations
