GEMS Sports: Updates on Sport Teams

Congratulations to all students involved in ACSIS Season 3 competitive sports. Despite some inclement weather disrupting several matches, we still managed to be heavily involved in many inter-school fixtures.

With the season ending today, I am pleased to inform you of the following fantastic results:

11U Touch – 3rd place
13U Rugby 7s – 2nd place
14U Boys Basketball – 2nd place
14U Girls Basketball – 2nd place

Tomorrow the Swim Team will wrap up their season with the Junior School ACSIS meet. We wish all of the competitor’s speed and efficiency in the water!

We had a small group of athletes attend the Junior and Middle School Track and Field Meets over the past two weekends, and they had great fun competing in what was for most, their first track meet. They each enjoyed the experience, and a highlight was the 14U boys relay team coming in a very impressive second place in their race. Many thanks to Mr Lawther-Heard for taking charge of the teams for both weekend events!

The 11U Rugby boys are the only team still with their finals to be played next week.

Please return your child’s team uniform washed and clean, to me BEFORE Friday 25 May in the PE Office.

Finally…a huge THANK YOU to the staff who have given their time and energy to coaching a team this season!

Without this commitment, our students would not be provided with the excellent opportunities to learn and develop that sport provides.
