Early/Primary Years Principal Message

EARLY/PRIMARY AWARDS CELEBRATIONS

We are writing to update you on the format of the Awards Celebrations for this Academic Year 2017-2018.

As a school, we look for opportunities to celebrate our students, their successes, achievements and contributions to school life.

Celebrations such as these have a positive impact on the study cohort and engender a spirit of continual improvement. Due to the growing size of the school, it has become necessary to split the celebrations into three separate events.

To make the events more inclusive and celebrate the values of the school, we have expanded the number and types of awards:

Where: Auditorium (Level 4)
What: Class Awards (Based on the PYP Attitudes) &  Student musical performances

LOWER PRIMARY YEARS (GRADES 1-3) AWARDS ASSEMBLY CELEBRATION

When: Thursday 14th June
Time: 9:10-10:00 am
Where: Auditorium (Level 4)
What: Class Awards (Based on the IB Learner Profile), Approaches Towards Learning Award, Action AwarD, Student musical performances

UPPER PRIMARY YEARS (GRADES 4-5) AWARDS ASSEMBLY CELEBRATION

When: Thursday 14th June
Time: 10:10-11:00 am
Where: Auditorium (Level 4)

If you are unable to attend the events please note that they will be streamed live.

We strongly encourage all parents to attend these ceremonies if possible to help us celebrate our students’ achievements and contributions.

 PYP COORDINATORS 2018-2019

It is my pleasure to formally announce that we have promoted two staff members to the position of PYP Coordinator for the next academic year.

Edna Lau and Paul Rimmer will be sharing the role and both have the title of IB PYP Curriculum Coordinator.

The Educational Leadership team is very excited about the prospect of working with these to exceptional practitioners. Paul and Edna have already started taking over the responsibilities from Olivia Burke.

I would like to take this opportunity and thank Olivia for the wonderful foundation which she has set for the PYP at GEMS (Singapore) during her three years in the role of PYP Curriculum Coordinator.

We wish Olivia, Brendan, Ashling and Keira all the very best as a family as they embark on their new journey to Germany!
