GEMS (Singapore) Performing Arts Update

The last several months have been busy ones for the GEMS (Singapore) Music Department and students have enjoyed a wide range of musical activities throughout the school including the Primary production of Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker” a Christmas fair visit by PY Choir members, and the various ARTS Week events.

During this past ARTS Week, we were visited by artists from Djembe Singapore for a workshop on African drumming, dance, and singing, while Anna and Ken from Musical Futures worked with students to put together full-class pop bands. We continued our collaboration with La Salle College of the Arts again this year with a jazz presentation involving our G9 students.

March will likewise be a busy month for GEMS Music students. The Orchestral & Choral Concert will take place on the evening of March 7 and the Solo & Chamber Concert will occur on March 27.

Our G10 students will record their performance works and compositions to be sent to Cambridge for examination by the end of the month. The latest installment of “Lunch of Rock” is also on the horizon and the PY Choirs will be performing as part of the UN celebrations.

GEMS (SingaporeMusic Department is delighted to invite you to a wonderful Orchestral & Chamber concert” that will take place on 7th March 2018. Our talented Choirs and String Ensembles will present an enjoyable programme of the pieces we have been working on over the last several months.
