Provocations have been set up in both the indoor and outdoor environments for children to engage with and to inquire into.
The learning environment has changed over the course of the year so that the children could be scientists, explorers, artists, pilots, storybook characters…the list of opportunities were endless.
In the Primary Years, we look back on all the amazing experiences the students have had.
From camps and trips, to presentations and exhibitions, to listening to guest speakers, our students have experienced different places and perspectives.
I want to also celebrate the fact that the students themselves have created their own experiences and driven their own learning.
Supported by our PY teachers, they decided what they wanted to inquire into and which experiences would allow them to do that.
I am extremely proud of all of our students.
We have celebrated their achievements in a variety of ways and all students have been provided with opportunities to showcase their skills, attributes and interests.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our Early and Primary Years staff for their tireless efforts to provide such wonderful learning opportunities throughout the year.
As the school continues to grow, we have created new roles within the division to support us in developing the future direction of the division.
After an interview process spanning the last few weeks, I am pleased to announce that the following staff members have successfully appointed to the following positions.
They will provide additional support with curriculum development, staff development and teaching and learning.
- Early Years Level Leader: Lynn White
- Primary Years Level Leader (Grades 1-3): Amy Fenton
- Primary Years Level Leader (Grades 4-5): Graham Franklin
- Early/Primary Years Language Acquisition Leader: Lynn Hammond
To those families and students who are leaving, I wish you the very best for the future and to those returning in August I wish you all a very restful and enjoyable holiday.
Neil White, Principal, Primary Years
